New York
Illustration & collage

Personal work
Year: 2014

During one of my stays in New York city, I decided not to take every picture I would with my cellphone and instead, make a litle note and describe the image I would have photographed. When I got home, I drew the eight “pictures” I had described in my notice book.

I find it interesting to observe what happens when the mind has to recall the details it has seen. The drawing becomes a mix between the description, the memory and the fantasy. This exercice is a reaction to a tendency to take pictures without really looking at the subject.
